Rising Stage Review

About

Rising Stage Review is for people making theatre with community groups, amateur companies, schools and small creative teams. It covers the choices that shape a production, from the first script conversation to the final performance.

What we cover

Expect considered advice on choosing material, planning rehearsals, directing scenes, working with performers and making design decisions. We also look at the shared production tasks that keep a group moving. The aim is to make the work easier to discuss and the next decision easier to see.

Who it is for

The publication is written for curious beginners and experienced volunteers alike: performers, directors, stage managers, designers and anyone helping bring a production together. You do not need a formal title or specialist vocabulary to use the ideas here.

How we approach it

We explain the purpose behind a choice, then offer ways to think it through with your own collaborators. Theatre groups differ in experience, time, space and resources, so advice is framed as a starting point rather than a rulebook.
